Which areas cannot be treated with IPL & Photofacial
Any area that has a mucus membrane cannot be treated with laser the IPL or photofacial. For example, inside the nose, close or on the anus, close or on the vagina, and any open wounds.
Areas that have tattoos on them are not eligible for treatment. The IPL and photofacial system will not be able to differentiate the pigment in the skin and the pigment from the tattoo. Tattoos increase the likelihood of burns and scarring. Our health professional will get close as possible to the tattoo but will not treat over the area. Finally, if a patient has recently suntanned via sun, sun lamp, or spray tan, then we may not be able to perform the IPL and photofacial treatment.
