What Causes Rosacea ?

The cause of rosacea is unknown and the majority of patient who have this condition are not aware they have rosacea. Rosacea typically starts off with skin flushing and redness that last a day or two. If the condition worsens, patients will notice that the redness and flushness because a daily occurrence and never goes away.  Other symptoms of this condition include small red bumps on the nose that can look like acne. If the condition becomes severe, the skin on the nose and cheeks will become thickened while changing the skin texture. Patients in these severe cases will have very uneven skin on the nose and cheek area. Some patient may also experience rosacea symptoms in the neck, ears, and chest, but these are uncommon.

Who Suffers From Rosacea ?

Rosacea affects millions of people in the US regardless of the skin type. Patient with lighter skin tend to suffer from rosacea more often. Rosacea will typically start to appear after the age of 30.
